Reporting to the Sr. Director of Experience Design, the Design Operations Manager will play a crucial role in identifying, streamlining, and optimizing processes as part of the DesignOps function ensuring the design team can craft and deliver high-quality products and experiences with impactful outcomes. You will lead, inspire, and support the design organization in learning and development, people, business, and research operations. This individual should be naturally curious, a creative problem solver, skilled at shaping team cohesion, comfortable taking ambiguity and making it concrete. Foster strong relationships across the design team and cross-functional partnerships that facilitate alignment with sectors and functions.
Responsibilities: Optimize processes by developing, implementing, and refining workflows, tools, and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness Manage resource allocation, tools, and software Work collaboratively with design leadership to identify and manage staffing and resourcing to support flexible capacity scaling to meet demand Prepare and negotiate estimates and contracts with vendors suppliers Onboard new employees, contractors, and freelancers Evaluate design tools and software, recommend new tools or upgrades, and oversee the implementation and integration of selected tools into existing workflows Establish and track objectives and key results (OKRs) for design operations and regularly analyze metrics to identify improvements for People and Business Operations Support design team in tracking and analyzing their metrics Lead the repository and standardization of design artifacts Shape and amplify team culture and lead team events and rituals Manage change initiatives within design, ensuring effective communication and support for team members during transitions Advocate and evangelize the vision, value, and impact design brings to the organization Manage budget and reporting A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required in design, business, project management, or related field 5 years of proven experience in design operations or a similar role within a matrixed organization successfully navigating complexity and competing priorities Experience supporting, shaping, and building a culture of high performing teams to deliver measurable experience-driven outcomes Strong blend of people and business operations experience Strong decision-making, consulting, and senior level business communication and presentation skills Outstanding leadership, time management, facilitation, organizational, and planning skills Collaborative leader biased towards action, who influences results, and fosters a strong cohesive team Leadership experience with the ability to inspire and motivate team members to continuously learn Capable of finding or imposing order in ambiguous environments and creating momentum around priorities Must love working with designers The anticipated base pay range for this position is $99,000- $170,200
