What Will Your Job Look Like? The Manager, Business Development has responsibility to grow the company's revenue through the acquisition of new Transit clients. Initial responsibilities will be focused on building the Transit lead generation strategy and produce vetted new opportunities for the Business Development team to pursue. This position will require an initial start up period of building a pipeline using technology resources to identify new transit opportunities within company identified guardrails. Following pipeline construction responsibilities will transition to acquiring new transit business through identifying profitable opportunities.
The Manager, Business Development will work closely with Business Development, Transit Operations and Marketing to oversee the growth of profitable new business in Transit. This position will develop and execute a strategic lead generation plan while helping cultivate new profitable Transit business.
Travel is required for this position - 25%-35% of the time. (US) What You'll Do: Build and develop a robust pipeline that align to companies' guardrails Identify new Transit opportunities by analyzing current and potential markets, competitor's share, strengths, and weaknesses and forecasting projected businesses Execute all facets of the role in conjunction with use of GovWin and CRM platforms Actively prospect for new business that meets the current strategic focus for our targeted clients Develop sales strategies by evaluating current product/service results; identifying industry needs, analyzing and monitor competition; Interpret customer trends Generate new business revenue; achieve pre-determined KPI's; meet or exceed defined sales goals Attend industry conferences representing the company What You'll need: High School Diploma or G.E.D. 3+ years of transportation company experience relatable to sales, corporate role of account management experience, or equivalent transportation industry experience Experience with long sales cycles associated with regional government transit procurements Experience with government RFP process Experience in consultative selling Even better if you have... College degree preferred Experience selling to transit authorities, a bonus Experience using CRM is a plus Experience using GovWin, Hubspot, ZoomInfo a plus Transit industry background preferred Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of people and job positions Ability to generate and qualify your own prospects Ability to build and develop a pipeline Excellent communication skills Active listening Proven ability to manage goal/KPI structure and success Dynamic presentation skills Ability to manage and prep RFP "oral/interview" teams Strong closing skills Highly organized Networking and negotiating skills Tech savvy Must have strong qualifying and prospecting skills Financial/business acumen Excellent time management skills Effectively handles stalls and objections Must have market awareness Must be able to work under pressure, be a self-starter, and demonstrate behavior that indicates drive and flexibility Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality Conflict resolution skills Proven experience meeting or exceeding sales quotas Proven ability to overcome price objections What's in it for you: Health and Life Insurance Plans Dental and Vision Plans 401(k) with a company match Paid Time Off and Holiday Pay Maternity/Paternity Leave Tuition Reimbursement Leadership Mentoring Opportunities Salary Min: 65,000 * W ith the exception of state required compensation regulations
