Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team..Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis (Corporate FP&A) is responsible for leading firmwide planning and forecasting processes, management reporting and performing strategic analyses of the Firm's global businesses to support strategic decision-making. Corporate FP&A supports and interacts with Firm leadership, the Firm's Board of Directors and various Firm regulators. Additionally, Corporate FP&A collaborates closely with Business lines and their Finance teams, Investor Relations, global Controller teams, Treasury, Capital and the Risk Department.Key responsibilities:Address strategic issues on an ad hoc basis that are complementary to the regular planning and analysis functionGenerate and oversee weekly reporting for the operating committee as well as weekly results and highlights for the CFOContribute to monthly and quarterly expense reporting and analytics, including the narrative around performance relative to budget / forecast and prior year and quarterly resultsResponsible for overseeing and producing quarterly performance decks for the Board of DirectorsContribute to the development of performance analytics materials for internal managementSupport ad hoc financial analyses and projects as requiredAbility to automate processes and reportsCommunicate and coordinate effectively with partner teamsAdept at working independently in a fast-paced environment and handling complexity and ambiguityAbility to work across organizational boundariesStrong organizational skills, including the ability to coordinate, prioritize and manage multiple deliverablesQualifications:Minimum of 4 years of experienceKnowledge in Financial Analysis and prior experience analyzing financial statements and managing large data setsProficient Microsoft office skills with a strong emphasis on PowerPoint and ExcelExcellent analytical, writing and presentation skillsConsistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skillsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field preferredExpected base pay rates for the role will be between 85,000 and 135,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs. Morgan Stanley's goal is to build and maintain a workforce that is diverse in experience and background but uniform in reflecting our standards of integrity and excellence.
