SUMMARY Responsible for supporting staff in the service, maintenance, and support of technologies in a MakerSpace. May also assist in the delivery of short training and/or orientations on the use of equipment for users of the space.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.
Work with staff to maintain andsupport the day-to-day operations of the MakerSpace and its technologies;

Participate in the evaluation oftechnology pilots and troubleshoots where necessary to ensure successfulcompletion.

Ensure safe operation of theMakerSpace.

Train users in the safe use oftechnologies as they are implemented in the MakerSpace.

Collaborate with technical staff whereappropriate in other MakerSpaces as they are set up around the district.

Support 3D Printers.

Support CNC and non-computerizedequipment where appropriate.

Support microelectronics such asRaspberry Pi, Arduino, or equivalent.

May assist technicians as determinedby departmental leadership.

Maybe required travel to multiple locations.

Mayrequire evening and weekend hours.

Mayprovide evening and weekend oversight of MakerSpace and would be responsiblefor its safe operation.

Withor without accommodation, the employee in this position needs to move about andposition him/herself to access files and operate a variety of prototypingmachines including laser cutting systems, 3D printers, CNC routers, plasmacutters, vinyl cutters, plastics forming systems and other power equipment.This position requires work in a unique product development and prototypinglaboratory and routinely exposes one to manufacturing and other technicalenvironments. This may require lifting and positioning raw materials and/orproducts, loading materials into machines, fabricating working models ofproduct ideas, and may occasionally involve work out of door.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above.  The qualifications listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
EDUCATION Associate degree, certification or equivalent coursework in a related field required. Four (4) years recent experience in hardware/software technical support considered in lieu of degree. 
EXPERIENCE Two (2) years experience required.  Experience in an education or technical field preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work incollaborative environment.

Knowledge of current desktop and mobile operating systems.

Knowledge of current digital fabrication tools including but not limitedto 3D Printers and CNC technologies.

Knowledge of design software such as Autodesk, Blender, Revit orequivalent required.

Knowledge of microelectronic technology such as Raspberry Pi, Arduino orequivalent.

Knowledge of coding preferred.

Able to multitask with a high volume of personal interaction withstudents, faculty, staff, coworkers, and vendors.

Able to effectively communicate technical information to technical andnon-technical personnel.
