Packerland is looking for a Maintenance Technician to help our team develop and execute asset strategies on day shift (typically schedule is 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM, but can be subject to change). A successful candidate will be detail-oriented and have a passion for expanding the knowledge of others.
This is a highly skilled hourly position requiring a thorough understanding of safe work practices, troubleshooting, and precision maintenance of manufacturing equipment and processes. The successful applicant will support the Green Bay Packerland Facility's maintenance efforts and strive to further a reliability vision of creating an environment where equipment operates as designed, runs predictably, and never fails. This is primarily an 8-hour, day shift opportunity, however, this role will require some flexibility with your work schedule that will be determined based on the workload. Georgia-Pacific Green Bay Packerland is a close-knit group of about 150 employees that work together as one team to deliver superior results. What You Will Do Be a Safety Leader. Be safety-minded and innovative. Challenge the status quo. Work independently and collaboratively to identify knowledge gaps and develop plans /actions to close those gaps. Assist in building capabilities of the entire team including Coaches, Operating Technicians, Shift Maintenance RTs, Manufacturing Engineers, and others. Perform defect correction to a precision state while ensuring standard practices and best practices are being used. Promote Operator Basic Care through the understanding and knowledge sharing of Disciplined operation concepts. Plan, prep, lead and participate in defect corrections. Promote continuity in the on-shift organization through standard work with on-shift leaders. Prioritize work to achieve long-term value and be flexible to adjust to changing needs/conditions. This will require a blending of teaching, coaching, hands on maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment. Execute and support the implementation of asset strategies. This will be an evolving position based on the business needs and needs of the team. Candidate must be comfortable with continual transformation and a learning environment. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Three (3) years of industrial electrical/mechanical maintenance experience in a production, manufacturing, industrial, or military environment, including troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery and mechanical equipment OR completion of OR working toward a technical degree or higher in the electro-mechanical or industrial maintenance field. Strong mechanical aptitude in manufacturing including the use of precision tools/techniques. Electrical skills that would facilitate troubleshooting issues that seem of an electrical nature. What Will Put You Ahead Solid understanding of Operator Basic Care and the ability to effectively share this knowledge with others. Strong computer skills Experience working with operators and technicians to transfer knowledge/skill. Operations experience with converting equipment Strong interpersonal skills Experience working with limited direction to achieve goals.
