PURPOSEThe Maintenance Mechanic with Class 3 Power Engineer services and maintains production machinery and production lines at Hain Celestial to maximize production up-time in a manner that complies with food safety standards and that upholds personal and employee health and safety practices.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESPerform repairs and provide preventive maintenanceProvide technical support and decision making during key breakdown situationsTrouble shoots processing equipment as neededUnderstand the set up and tear down processes of equipmentWork closely with production supervisors to schedule machine down time for repairsRequisition parts and materials related to maintenanceOperate lathe and milling machine to repair and fabricate parts if neededInstall and commission new machineryProvide training for junior mechanicsMaintain boiler by performing daily checks and conducting water analysisPerform gas, tig and Arc welding as neededWork in a professional manner and with a positive and helpful mindsetStrong awareness of health and safety issues; showing responsibility for oneself and othersAll employees are responsible for food and safety qualityAll employees are responsible to report food safety and quality problems to personnelPerform other duties as assignedCOMPETENCIES (Behavioural & Technical Skills)Hands on knowledge of packing machines and processing equipment based on the food industry is a real asset.Good understanding of vacuum pumpsExcellent knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systemsGood knowledge of Freon and Ammonia refrigeration systems is an assetWorking knowledge of PLC and computerized machinery is an asset.Proven ability to work independently and to plan prioritiesAbility to work in a team based environment and also work independently in a proactive manner; working co-operatively and positively to achieve the common goal of ongoing production.Understand preventive maintenance concepts and knowledgeable about computerized work order systemsStrong written and verbal communication skills and ability to provide quality customer serviceMust be able to work together with team members of other trades and share the workload.Has a "Safety first and always" attitude towards work, oneself and colleaguesEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEExperienced as a mechanic with minimum 1 year experience in food processing plantsClass 3 Power Engineer TicketCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITSClass 3 Power Engineer Ticket of $1.00 per hourStarting wage is $39.13 per hourMedical, Vision and Dental CoverageHealth Spending AccountLife and Dependent InsuranceAccidental Death and DismembermentShort Term Disability (not available for Union employees)Long Term DisabilityTravel AssistanceVoluntary Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP)Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP)Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/Disabled
