In this role you will be supervising the overall day to day, performance, coordination, management, and maintenance of the specified mining crew to assist in obtaining safety, productivity, efficiency, quality, service and profitability for the organization. as well as bringing a positive and. Most importantly, understands that our people, our teamwork and a positive culture are what create a dedicated and enjoyable workplace.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Direct the activities of a Mine Maintenance crew to maintain mobile equipment in a manner which improves the safety, efficiency, and endurance of our fleetReview, and manage the completion of, work orders for preventive maintenance, planned component replacement, and unplanned repairsAssure all PM and backlog paperwork are complete to include detailed documentation of repair and additional parts requiredPrepare reports on accidents/incidents that happen during the shiftConduct daily pre-shift meetings to ensure employees are informed of safety and production issuesEnsure that all mining employees are properly trained on the use of appropriate equipmentResponsible to ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipmentEnsure employee health and safety through compliance with all safety and mine regulations, company policies and regulationsPerforms other duties as assignedREQUIRED SKILLS:Minimum of 5 years heavy equipment mechanic experience in an open cut mining environment Experience working on :CAT 789, LIE T264, KOM 830E, HIT EX5600, LIE R996 size equipment and greaterDemonstrated ability to always achieve results within a team environment under minimal supervisionGood oral and written communication skillsExcellent planning, leadership, organization, and communication skillsHigh level of attention to detail and excellent follow-up skillsSolid understanding of business professionalismAbility to communicate and interact within all levels of the organizationREQUIRED EDUCATION:Bachelor's degree in diesel mechanics, mechanical engineering, or related fieldPost-high school technical training or certification in diesel mechanics, welding, mine maintenance, or other similar trainingPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAble to lift 50 poundsAble to live and work at high altitudes (12,000 ft. elevation) for a week at a timeAble to work in extreme winter conditions with temperatures regularly below zero degrees FahrenheitAble to stand for extended periods of time, walk long distances, and climb laddersAble to work for extended 12-hour shiftsCan work night shifts (5:30 p.m. - 5:30 a.m.) seven days at a time and properly manage fatigueNo auditory or visual impairments restricting the ability to see distances while driving and clearly discern auditory and visual alerts/alarms (not including color blindness)Quick response/reaction times Arm-hand steadiness and manual dexterityWHAT WE OFFERA work environment where safety is always the number one priority.
