Remedy is working with an International Beauty brand to HIRE a Controls Maintenance Engineer on the Westside of Jacksonville. This opportunity is a DIRECT HIRE role.
Pay: $80,000 to $100,000 per year Summary: Automation and Controls Technician with the skills and knowledge to effectively test, troubleshoot and repair varied high-speed manufacturing equipment and support systems. Ability to establish connection for the purpose of monitoring and navigating PLC and control systems. Strong root cause analysis skills required to eliminate recurring failures.
Controls Maintenance Engineer Job Duties: Troubleshoot all aspects of electrical control systems including PLCs, robotics, servos, VFDs, HMIs and safety circuits using a laptop including Allen Bradley, GE, and Siemens and other formats and software Ability to make basic programming changes Design and Troubleshoot AC/DC motor controls, low voltage power distribution (480vac and below), and industrial machine controls with or without a schematic Maintain required records, including CMMS work orders, PLC program documentation and electrical drawings Perform continuous improvement activities to drive equipment availability quality and performance Support new equipment installation and upgrades Wire transformers, VFD controllers, motors, and other industrial electrical equipment Basic knowledge of facility building utility control systems (boilers, chillers, air compressors, etc.) preferred Lead training of other technicians and maintenance staff Must be able to respond to plant emergencies Follow company and regulatory standards and safety regulations. Identifies unsafe conditions and make corrections when appropriate. Minimum Education Required: Two year technical degree or equivalent work experience. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION: 5-10 years' experience in industrial electrical controls and/or related industrial training or educational equivalent. Ability to learn in a fast-paced dynamic environment. Strong desire to continuously develop advanced skills and knowledge within the controls field. Able to stand and/or walk 90% of an 8-hr day which includes climbing a ladder or steps. Must meet the vision and hearing requirements. Arc flash and Lock Out Tag Out training. Utilize multi-meter and test equipment to check motors, VFDs, and capacitors. Experience in preventative maintenance of controls and electrical equipment including low voltage power distribution (480vac and below). Working knowledge of National Electric Code and reference the code when required. Ability to fabricate and wire electrical panels and terminal boxes. Able to read electrical schematics. Ability to take initiative and to engage in continued growth and development to learn new technologies. Contribute to continuous improvement plans and recommendations on better, more efficient and less costly methods to complete jobs. Effectively participate in formal root cause analysis (RCA) Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
