A Human Resources Business Partner provides HR related consultation and services to assigned client base. Facilitates HR initiatives and programs by effectively partnering with all levels of management and employees and by exemplifying a proactive, customer-driven approach to resolving workplace issues.
Job Responsibilities: Conducts effective recruiting and selection for positions including preparation of internal and external job postings, evaluating resumes, interviewing candidates, making job offers and on-boarding new employees. Included in this process is the coordination of annual college recruiting. Provides consultation and guidance to supervisors and managers regarding general employee issues such as discipline and performance coaching Partners with supervision in planning efforts for both employees and the organization. Succession planning, organizational development, and management of performance appraisal processes are critical in this role. Manages compensation programs at the refinery level including processing and making recommendations for technical ladder progression, annual adjustments and monitoring compensation issues Provides oversight and counsel for supervisors and managers regarding employment regulations and policy implementation such as EEO, ADA, FMLA, unemployment, immigration verification and worker's compensation Performs special projects related to the Human Resource function as required Education/Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business, Psychology or other related field Minimum of three (3) years of HR Generalist or related experience Must possess experience with and understanding of employment/labor laws such as EEO, ADA, FMLA, NLRA, FLSA, etc. Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a changing business environment Excellent organizational, analytical, and conflict resolution skills Ability to assess risks and apply good judgment in making recommendations to all levels of management Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP Certification, preferred Eligibility Requirements: Valid driver's license The Maritime Transportation Security Act requires all persons who will need unescorted access to a regulated facility to have a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), issued in accordance with the rules established by the United States Coast Guard and the Transportation Security Administration.
