The Apis Hotel & Restaurant The Apis Hotel & Restaurant is a multi-level concept featuring a full-service restaurant, multiple event spaces, a stunning rooftop bar, and 6 premium guestrooms. The Apis Line Cook The Apis Line Cook is on the front lines of culinary service at our restaurant, carrying out all aspects of dish preparation, and maintaining food standards as set by management. Line Cooks are responsible for presenting all dishes with precision and quality that meet company standards. Tasked with mastering each station of the line, Apis Line Cooks are also accountable for cleanliness and food & equipment safety.
Responsibilities
Execute menu items from start to finish––this includes but is not limited to: preparation of ingredients, butchery of proteins, cooking and plating of menu items Maintain the functionality and proper stocking of each kitchen station Maintain proper par levels for all ingredients and prepped food items, as directed by management Limit waste by maintaining proper food prep, proper food storage, and proper FIFO procedures for all ingredients Maintain cleanliness of any BOH work areas, including and not limited to refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areas Participate in deep cleaning of BOH work areas, including and not limited to refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areas Assist in the washing of dishes as necessary Work collaboratively with BOH staff and FOH staff Participate in the preparation and development of new menu items Hone existing skills while learning new techniques and building your skill set Adhere to all company service standards and protocols Understand and execute food safety and allergies protocols Additional service and/or operational tasks as determined by management Be knowledgeable of the restaurant and its history Communicate respectfully with coworkers at all levels Adhere to grooming and dress code standards Skills & Requirements 2 years of related culinary experience or education required General knife handling, food safety & sanitation knowledge High volume restaurant experience preferred Comfortable working in a fast paced & high energy environment Must demonstrate a mastery of organizational skills, with an ability to multi-task while maintaining high service standards Must possess an exceptional work ethic, an eye for detail, a strong sense of hospitality, and a collaborative attitude A passion for food and a dedication to continued learning Receptive to constructive criticism & performance feedback Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time Physical Demands The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours.
