Licensed Practical Nurse Lpn York, Op Heart & Vascular Institute

UPMC's Heart and Vascular Institute at Memorial Hospital in York is currently looking to add a Licensed Practical Nurse LPN to their team. The LPN provides professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers. Heart and Vascular experience is helpful, but not a requirement of the position. In this position, you will join a great team environment and work in a beautiful, brand-new office with lots of natural sunlight and positive energy. Our providers are excellent to work for and they throw a massive independent Holiday Party for the team.

Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm with some flexibility as needed i.e 7:30am-4pm, 8am-4:30pm. Only 1 late shift per month (10:30am-7pm). NO WEEKENDS, NO MAJOR HOLIDAYS!

Responsibilities:

* Room patients, assess patient's general condition, take vital signs & weight, obtain past medical history and other demographics.* Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.* Complete EKG's as ordered* Assist with phone calls, triage/assess as needed* Check out patients- Schedule Cardiac/Vascular testing, procedures, and surgeries.* Place cardiac monitors as needed* Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.* Work clinical encounters (in basket messages) in Epic.* Draw blood.* Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).* Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.* Comply with all policies and procedures.* Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.* Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.* Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.

Qualifications:

* Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.* 1-year clinical experience preferred, but NOT required.* New graduate LPN's welcome to apply.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

* CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

Clearances must be dated within 90 days

* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)* Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)* Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal* Act 33 with renewal* Act 34 with renewal* Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
