Physical Requirements: This position may be required to lift boxes up to 50 pounds, work with older news print and microfilm, and sit for long periods viewing computer screens.
Shift: Monday–Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm
Job Summary: The University of Kentucky is actively seeking a project manager for the National Digital Newspaper Program at the University of Kentucky Libraries. Responsibilities for this role will include the oversight of the project; managing workflows, project statistics, and project documentation; quality assurance, communication and monitoring vendor progress; researching and writing title essays and presentation materials about the project; and serving as a key member of the UK NDNP Team.
Additionally, the NDNP project manager will be responsible for the 100,000-page deliverable data to the Library of Congress' Chronicling America national database of digitized historic newspapers; attending the annual NDNP meetings and networking with other NDNP awardee staff; providing project updates and statistics for granting agency reports; hiring and supervising student assistants where applicable.
This position is grant funded, with funding estimated for this position through the project end date of August 31, 2025 Skills / Knowledge / Abilities: Windows, Adobe Creative Suite apps, imaging apps, XML apps, NDNP DVV, workflow management apps (like Notion, Trello, etc)

Preferred Education/Experience: Master's degree in Library Science with experience and/or training in project management, technological proficiencies, and digitization.
