Job Description Benchmark School is seeking applicants for a full-time librarian who will promote a life-long love of reading and take a leadership role in the instruction of 21st-century information technology skills. Collaboration with faculty is a significant aspect of the librarian's responsibilities; candidates would support the students and faculty in implementing inquiry and research projects. The librarian would be responsible for curating and expanding Benchmark's extensive collection of leveled books, particularly seeking books representing a diverse, inclusive worldview. Creative activities would be expected to familiarize students and faculty with the collection and promote a daily reading habit.
Responsibilities Strong interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with colleagues and parents Ability to interact with Lower and Middle School students Understanding of students who have experienced reading or learning differences Knowledge of a range of technology tools Possess an attention to detail that will facilitate the smooth running of the school's library management system.
