Job Overview
Are you passionate about making a difference? We're seeking a motivated individual to join us as a Legislative Audit Trainee. In this role, you'll work alongside experienced auditors, contributing to the evaluation of state agencies' operations and financial practices. Your insights will directly influence the efficiency and integrity of government processes, safeguarding taxpayer funds from waste, fraud, and abuse.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate in the development of audit plans, adhering to government auditing standards.
- Conduct thorough examinations of internal controls, policies, and procedures within state agencies.
- Evaluate compliance with state and federal regulations, identifying areas for improvement.
- Assist in the review of financial statements and performance metrics.
- Investigate whistleblower complaints with integrity and discretion.
- Craft clear and actionable recommendations for process enhancement.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related business field from an accredited institution.
- At least 18 semester hours credit in accounting and auditing coursework.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA in relevant accounting courses or equivalent experience.
