Under limited supervision/procedural control, the incumbent oversees administrative legal processes resulting in Contested Cases for both licensing and background studies. The incumbent will recommend and implement new or revised work methods and procedures for clearly defined problems in policy and procedures development/analysis; work and information flow; systems analysis/design; performs related work as required.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Oversee and make recommendations on the establishment, ongoing improvement, process documentation procedure, quality assurance measures, and outcome metrics for all processes associated with Contested Cases undertaken by Legal Counsel's Office.
• Work with licensing appeal requests and licensing data requests.
• Utilize Salesforce, SharePoint, and other systems to manage and oversee reconsideration and appeals processes. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications **To facilitate proper crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.**
2 years professional experience overseeing administrative legal processes.
Experience must demonstrate the following:
• Make independent judgments resulting in decisions that must stand up to administrative and/or judicial review.
• Manage the collection of data and tracking of data requests in case management system.
• Assess appeal requests to determine appropriate appeal venue and timeliness of appeal request.
• Analyzing court records.
• Providing legal support in a law office or similar government setting.
Bachelor's degree in Legal/Paralegal Studies, Political Science, Human Services or in related field may substitute for 1 year of professional experience OR Master's degree in Legal/Paralegal Studies, Political Science, Human Services or related field may substitute for 2 years of experience. Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of Minnesota Statutes related to Licensing and Background Studies.
• Knowledge and experience working with data privacy law and regulation.
• Knowledge of process improvement concepts and methodologies.
• Demonstrate an excellent use of grammar and syntax and must be able to convey legal and procedural information clearly and concisely with a minimum of oversight.
• Possess high standards for accuracy of work and must be able to work independently.
• • Excellent computer and word-processing skills.
• Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures. Additional Requirements
