Description: The Department of Classics at the University of Tennessee has been authorized to invite applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track position at the rank of Lecturer beginning in the 2024-25 academic year. Appointment is for up to two years with possibility of renewal. Teaching load is 12 credit hours/semester or 24 credit hours/academic year. Salary is $51,500. The position comes with full benefits, and the University of Tennessee has a well-established promotion system for non-tenure-line faculty.
The committee will begin to review completed applications on May 1 and continue until the position has been filled.
The Knoxville campus of the University of Tennessee is seeking candidates who have the ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University.
Qualifications: Ph.D. is required at commencement of appointment on August 1, 2024. We seek candidates who are able to teach Latin and ancient Greek language and literature primarily at the introductory and intermediate levels, as well as general culture and civilization courses. An ability to teach large lecture courses (ca. 150-200 students) is desirable.
