Department Description

The Wildlife Ecology Discipline is in the College of Natural Resources at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point ( and is one of the largest undergraduate wildlife programs in North America with nearly 400 undergraduate students. The College of Natural Resources (CNR) has approximately 1,500 undergraduates, 100 graduate students, and over 130 faculty and staff. The College supports premier undergraduate natural resource programs with disciplines in Environment & Society, Fisheries and Water Resources, Forestry, Soil and Waste Resources, Wildlife Ecology, and the Department of Paper Science and Chemical Engineering. JOB DETAILS: Position Summary

This is a full-time, academic year (9-month) instructional academic staff lecturer position. The individual is responsible for classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction and assists with instructional development and design for a single course or series of courses within an academic discipline to support the delivery of quality instruction. Serves as an instructor of record for courses such as quantitative methods for wildlife, wildlife techniques, and population ecology. Teaches 12 credits or the equivalent each academic semester. The potential exists for teaching during summer and winterim sessions for additional compensation.


QUALIFICATIONS: Required Qualifications

Master¿s degree in wildlife ecology or related field. Knowledge and experience in quantitative ecology. Knowledge of wildlife techniques such as population sampling and habitat assessment. Interest in working with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications

PhD in wildlife ecology or related field. ABD at time of application will be considered. Demonstrated teaching of undergraduate students in wildlife or related field. SPECIAL NOTES: Special Notes

Terms of Employment

This is fixed-term, exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act, 9-month Instructional Academic Staff position for two years. Acceptance of this position does not guarantee ongoing employment beyond the contract period, however the employee will be considered for any future contracts per budget and instructional need. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring eligibility for employment in the United States on or before the effective date of the appointment. University sponsorship is not available for this position.
