Job TitleLecturer of Art Agency Texas A&M University - San Antonio Department Department of Language, Literature, and Arts Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Location San Antonio, Texas Job Type Faculty Job Description Texas A&M University-San Antonio (A&M-SA) seeks a full-time, non-tenure-track Lecturer of Art. This position will begin in Fall 2024 and will serve our Dual Credit / Early College High School Program. The successful candidate will teach Art Appreciation at an Early College High School in the Fall (Pathways in Technology Early College High School in Fall 2024) and at A&M-SA in the Spring. The base teaching load at A&M-SA is 5/5; however, the successful applicant will be teaching 4/5 with professional development expectations related to teaching early college high school students during the Fall. During the Spring, the successful applicant may teach other introductory studio art courses, such as Principles and Elements of Design, Drawing, Painting, Photography, or Sculpture.
Required Education and Experience: Master's Degree in Studio Art, or a related field, from a regionally accredited institution
A minimum of 18 graduate hours in Studio Art
A minimum of one (1) year of college or university teaching experience.
Preferred Education and Experience: Experience teaching Art Appreciation and foundations level studio art
Experience teaching dual credit courses and/or experience teaching at a high school
Experience teaching non-traditional, first-generation students
Experience with contemporary instructional technologies such as learning management systems
Recognized professional practice and/or scholarly works in the field of art
