Learning Center Coordinator Student Affairs Shiprock Campus Duty Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, possibly late hours and weekends
Summary/Objective of Position: The Learning Center Coordinator reports to the Student Services Program Manager. The role of the coordinator is to oversee the Learning Center activities and operations. Will monitor the tutoring schedule, conduct and coordinate regular tutor workshops and training to support student learning, proctor examinations when requested. Collects Learning Center data and reports findings. The coordinator works closely with staff, faculty, and center tutors to implement and deliver educational and instructional support for students. Provides follow-up on student referrals for tutoring services.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. ADMINISTRATIVE AND MANAGEMENT DUTIES:
*Provides leadership and supervises Professional and Peer Tutors to include prioritizing and assigning work; conducts performance
evaluations ensuring tutors are properly trained and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
*Maintains good working relationships with college faculty and staff at all sites as well as external agencies.
*Plans the use of facilities based on student needs.
*Conducts regular training for tutors on tutoring techniques which include but are not limited to learning styles, adult learning
theory, tutoring students with special needs, and face-to-face and online tutoring session facilitation as part of the CRLA
certification for tutors.
REPORTING:
*Compiles data and prepares related reports on usage, workshop attendance, and center activities.
*Manages and contributes to the completion and analysis of data assessment to support the improvement of center practices,
procedures, and programs.
*Prepares monthly, end of semester, and annual reports using data (including tracking of students' performance) to demonstrate
effectiveness of meeting goals of the Learning Center.
FISCAL:
*Assists in the preparation of center budget by providing cost estimates and recommendations of purchases.
*Ensures budget reflects mission and goals of the Center and College.
*Prepares and maintains budget to support Center goals.
COORDINATION AND COLLABORATION
*Works closely with Tsaile Learning Center Manager to ensure quality of tutoring services.
*Coordinates tutoring activities with faculty.
*Coordinates testing schedules (proctoring examinations).
*Works closely with Student Affairs staff and other programs that refer students for tutoring services.
*Collaborates with other centers to partner and facilitate student learning opportunities.
OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Performs other duties of a similar nature as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience Minimum: Successful completion of 60 college credit hours towards an Associate Degree.
1 year tutoring experience at a two-year or four-year college.
Experience in working with Adult Learners.
Experience working with Native American or minority college students.
Knowledge: Good interpersonal communication skills and ease in relating to people from diverse educational, cultural, and social backgrounds.
Adhere to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974 which ensures student identification and records are protected.
Respect confidentiality at all times.
Planning and coordinating of operational activities.
Monitoring, assigning, and reviewing work of others.
Monitoring of budget.
Using and evaluating software application programs.
Skills: Skill in ability to maintain a variety of records and files.
Skill in preparing monthly and annual reports.
Skill in proficient use of computer use, software applications, internet, web-based software, social media, and student information systems, such as Jenzbar EX.
Skill in decision making and problem solving.
Skill in interpersonal relations.
Skill in working with diverse student population.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in relating instructional materials to students.
Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and faculty.
Ability to collaborate with staff, faculty, tutors, and students for improvement of program services.
Ability to maintain accurate records.
Ability to make effective decision-making and willingness to adjust to changing situations.
Ability to work with a diverse student population.
Physical Requirements, Work Environment & Travel: Physical requirements are no more than what one encounters in a general office setting.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more for tasks such as lifting testing material packages, desktops, etc.
Must be able to travel to other Dine' College sites for scheduled meetings or activities when necessary.
Must be willing to work flexible hours, i.e. evening or weekend hours when necessary.
Other Requirement(s): Valid state issued driver's license is required.
Oral fluency in Navajo is highly desirable, but not mandatory.
