Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Christian Lead Therapist to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will provide clinical therapy, spiritual guidance, and leadership within our Social Services - Therapy Department, supporting our students and clients on their journey towards healing and transformation.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Utilize appropriate clinical therapeutic modalities for individual and group therapy, class instruction, and training.
- Conduct screening, clinical assessments, case management, and mental health treatment for program residents.
- Develop and document client service plans, goals, and prioritize areas of need.
- Provide crisis intervention/triage, safety planning, and demonstrate cultural sensitivity practices.
- Facilitate process and skill-building classes/groups and conduct initial assessment interviews.
- Attend staff meetings, clinical supervision sessions, and adapt therapy methods based on student reactions.
Team Leadership and Supervision:
- Consult with the Director and supportive team members on treatment plans.
- Supervise interns and coordinate training assignments.
- Provide ongoing feedback and evaluation to therapists and interns.
- Conduct training for SDRM staff on clinical issues.
- Support the Therapist and interns with guidance and mentorship. Administrative Responsibilities:
- Maintain progress notes and manage administrative tasks.
- Complete documentation within established time frames.
- Participate in self and peer audits of documentation.
- Utilize electronic health record/database and refer clients to supportive services as necessary.
Spiritual Leadership:
- Serve as a spiritual resource and integrate sound clinical practice with spiritual depth.
- Partner with Advocates to meet the mental and spiritual needs of students.
- Embody SDRM's Mission, Vision, and Values in all activities.
Professional and Spiritual Growth:
- Embody a Mission-wide perspective and remain mindful of organizational values.
- Participate in spiritual disciplines and resolve conflicts as necessary.
- Attend trainings, workshops, and continuing education for professional growth.
- Maintain knowledge of mental health resources and engage in ongoing learning.
Requirements:
- Minimum Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Clinical Psychology, or related field.
- California Mental Health Care License.
- Minimum 2 years of full-time work experience in mental health, addiction challenges, and homelessness.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in clinical work.
- Knowledge of Trauma Informed Care and Dialectical Behavior Therapy trained or willingness to be trained.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
- Registered as an ASW or Intern with the Board of Behavioral Sciences.
