About Us: Piedmont Electric Cooperative is a member-owned, not-for-profit electric cooperative with more than 33,000 electric accounts in Alamance, Caswell, Durham, Granville, Orange, and Person counties. We at Piedmont Electric are dedicated to serving our members and improving the quality of life in our communities through local employment, economic development, business engagement, youth education, grants to educators, advocacy for energy issues, community involvement, broadband connectivity, and emergency preparedness. Summary: Maintains the Load Management system in efficient working order. Promotes the efficient use of electricity for heating and air conditioning to the membership and public. Provides members, Member Services, and Office Services with assistance on high bill complaints and energy audits, meter readings, heating and cooling issues, and energy-saving techniques. Provides onsite solutions relating to lighting complaints (i.e., shields, relocation, foot candle optimization, etc.) and assists energy services specialist with contract administration. Provides advice and mentorship to energy services specialists. Principal Duties: Perform and promote heat pump rebate program. Assist members with high bill complaints and/or energy audits. Educate members on the proper operation of HVAC systems. Provide support and promotion for load control and BYOT programs, including maintaining and repairing system equipment. Provide technical support for Member Services regarding HVAC advice, solar, rates, home energy improvements, etc. Provide lighting solutions for member complaints. Provide safety demonstrations and education to schools, membership, and the public. Assist with loan and grant application process as needed. Maintain valid NC Limited Electrical Contractor License. Provide logistics services during storm restorations. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Must have an Electrical Contractor's License. 5 to 7 years of Load Management experience.
This position reports to the Manager of Energy Services. External candidates: salary will be based on years of experience. Internal candidates: salary will be based on policy.
