BASIC FUNCTION
Responsible for coordinating staff while facilitating quality recreational and leisure programs and activities as well as special events and assisting in providing services to the community.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
"*" denotes an essential function of the job Assist in the facilitation, implementation and evaluation of overall parks and recreation programs and reservations, including but not limited to: practices, leagues, tournaments, concessions, camps, enrichment field trips, and special events. Coordinate and prepare use of program area and facilities in accordance with park and facility use agreements and/or regulations; file necessary permits, forms, registers public, and oversee reservations as needed. Instruct and lead recreation programs and activities as required. Assist in concessions inventory and ordering, overseeing, and helping maintain concessions and storage areas, oversee cash handling and reconciliation. Assign Program Assistants and Concessions staff areas of responsibility and tasks while on shift and hold each accountable for their job duties. Maintain a safe recreational environment for participants. Ensure parks and facilities are neat, organized, and clean prior to, during, and after events. Help maintain positive relationships with organizations that reserve with the department. Be the face of department while onsite who makes first and direct contact with public. Address the public questions and concerns regarding program offerings and related issues. Be proactive and address problems before they escalate. Promote collaborative efforts with community organizations, such as but not limited to assist with recruitment of sports leagues & promoting sports programs to community. Assist in taking calls and tactfully answers requests; screens calls and answers questions, routes questions and complaints as required; provides general information. Relay necessary messages to appropriate personnel. Attend City and industry-related meetings, as required. Function as a contributing member of the department's team and other teams, as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
Excellent organizational skills. Ability to correspond with external and internal clients and vendors professionally and efficiently via phone, email, and written correspondence. Excellent attention to detail in an environment with rapidly changing data. Display interpersonal relationships which encourage openness, candor, and trust, both internally and outside of the City. Accurate and timely completion of projects and/or reports. Maintain City information in a confidential manner. Considerable knowledge of the principles, theories, and techniques of recreation programs in assigned program area. Ability to use independent judgment and take initiative. MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, bend, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl occasionally, etc as specific to the activity at hand. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. working environment and conditions
This position requires working in both an internal and external environment. Activities can occur inside and outside; position will be subject to changes in temperature. This position requires a flexible work schedule; night and/or weekends will be required. Significant amount of time may be spent working outdoors and in inclement weather (within reason and safety) to include; hot, humid, cold, rain, ice and snow. EDUCATION, Experience and TRAINING
High school graduation or equivalency, 2-year college degree preferred and/or 2 years of recreation experience. Skilled in the use of computers. Must have valid driver's license. Current certification in CPR/AED/First Aid, preferred. equipment and Tools
Computer and peripherals. Recreational equipment.
