Job Description SummaryThe Lead Manufacturing Engineer (Machining) is involved with the Engineering associated with developing manufacturing processes and documentation needed to meet Customer requests. The Lead Manufacturing Engineer will have a comprehensive in-depth understanding of complex and highly technical concepts specifications and drawings associated with Customer requests and the ability to translate these concepts into clear work direction for the machinists.Job DescriptionEssential ResponsibilitiesIn the role of Lead Manufacturing Engineer (Machining), you will:Prior experience with machining (broaching, milling, turning, EDM, grinding, etc.) of high temperature alloysAct as a leader on specific tasks that require a broad experience baseIdentify plans to ensure technical requirements, costs, and schedules are metProvides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costsCreate and issue detailed work instructions (router)Interface with external organizations and supporting functions, to direct/coordinate the efforts needed to meet Customer expectationsFacilitate interaction with Customers and Machinists as needed to clarify Customer needsCollaborate with management in setting realistic and challenge goalsAssist the Senior Manufacturing Engineer and/or Manager in planning work activity for the organizationSelf-motivated to get the solution with reasonable amount of time and financial supportDevelop new solutions under guidance and/or in a team setting or based upon precedents in the organizationQualifications/RequirementsBachelor's Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in manufacturing ) + Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experienceMust be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain clearanceDesired CharacteristicsPrior experience with cutting toolsEquipment maintenance familiarityCNC turning and/or milling programming experienceCAD / CAM expertise – Unigraphics preferredWorking knowledge of CLM (probing, tool-setting, machining environments)Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn?Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively?Focused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed ?Leadership ability: strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborative?Problem solver: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinkerHealthcare benefits include medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage; access to a Health Coach, a 24/7 nurse-based resource; and access to the Employee Assistance Program, providing 24/7 confidential assessment, counseling and referral services.
