Job title : Lead Counter Sales
Pay : Starting at $21.94 to $25.97 an hour, depending on experience.
Schedule : Tuesday-Saturday 8am to 5pm
Location : Albany, Oregon
PARR's Counter Sales Lead is responsible for leading and developing the Front Counter team. This position also ensures that the yard processes are running smoothly and efficiently.
This position reports directly to Yard Manager and works closely with all internal and external customers. Interacts regularly with vendor representatives and industry associates.
Qualifications 1 year of previous experience in a similar job 1 year of leadership experience preferred High School Diploma or GED equivalent Ability to speak, write, and read English required Knowledge of lumber and plywood purchasing principles, practices, and protocols Knowledge of home and commercial construction principles, practices, and protocols Must be able to operate personal computer, smartphone, scanner, and any other equipment necessary for the job Must be able to type 40+ WPM Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Must have reliable transportation Duties and Responsibilities Supervise and direct the Counter Sales Staff Enforce all company policies Assist customers at point-of-sales Ensures counter team work professionally groomed and attired (name tags being worn) Holds team accountable for assets for proper usage, lost and cleanliness (radios, pc, etc.) Coaches and holds team accountable for staying current in Time and Attendance (UTA) daily Workspace/office free of clutter Ensures that credit returns are processed in a timely manner (same intensity as we have with delivery) Maintains store cleanliness and holds team accountable for such behavior Introduces himself/herself to customers and/or vendors when opportunity arises Remains calm under pressure- stays professional in crisis Promotes Cash for Concepts Seeks out new product lines to sell Oversees merchandizing of store Promotes Marketing competitions and promos (Holiday endcaps, fundraisers) Acknowledges and rewards great work Works toward advancement in leadership career such as RYS, Assistant Manager, Manager, etc. Executes big picture goals Seeks out tasks or training opportunities that may help in career advancement Regularly receives great customers/sales team feedback Sets individual goals and has career conversations with counter team Demonstrates sound judgement and confidentiality in dealing with sensitive business matters Creates team driven environment, where the team is working towards a common goal Review productivity reports and identifies opportunities for improvement Team members complete required new hire Blue-Volt training in a timely way Opens and closes store/yard as needed Participates with inventory prep and post procedures Yearly inventory involvement Ensures all merchandise is priced and price updates are completed by deadlines Schedules product knowledge classes for team Oversees material returns are processed correctly Effectively manages Outlook and personal notebook Oversees empty peg count and ensures correct counts along with proper inventory on hand Takes an active role in developing and managing locations for inventory Oversees counter crew schedule Conducts interviews and hiring of Counter staff with leadership team Facilitates group discussions with key members for best practices Knows product locations in store, yard and warehouses, and coaches entire team to know as well Performs Performance Improvement Notices and ongoing coaching as needed Balances daily cash sheet and oversees on hand cash for register Conducts or schedules resets Orders store supplies and necessary services etc. (Invoices, office supplies.) Enforces attendance policy up to and including creating and delivering PINS Prepares and delivers reviews Manages negative quantity and spc reports Understands strength and weaknesses of everyone on team- utilizes the first and works to improve the second Manages 24 month dead stock Is a part of the leadership team's efforts to reduce turnover Helps to maintain budget and expenses Participate in inventory exchange program Takes lead in annual inventory process Independently identifies processes, tools and procedures that may be improved upon in order to improve the workplace and service to our customers Flexibility to work for extended hours as needed Effectively maintains all store/location operations in absence of Yard Manager or Supervisor The working conditions of this position are at a sales counter in a retail yard.
Physical Requirements Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time Must be able to grasp, talk, hear, and operate a computer and keyboard Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds and carry objects 50 feet Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions Must be able to drive a vehicle when necessary We know that without great people, we can't be a great company.
