Lead Accounts Payable Associate Location Columbia, SC : Overview: The Lead Accounts Payable position is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors while maintaining strong internal controls. This role provides leadership and guidance to a team of accounts payable specialists, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities: Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and mentor a team of accounts payable specialists, providing training and development opportunities. Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring workload is distributed efficiently. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting open communication and teamwork. Accounts Payable Management: Review and approve invoices for accuracy and completeness. Verify purchase orders and ensure proper coding for general ledger entries Process payments to vendors on time and in accordance with payment terms Perform regular reconciliations and ensure data integrity. Identify and resolve discrepancies with invoices or payments. Manage vendor relationships and respond to inquiries promptly. Financial Reporting: Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports related to accounts payable. Analyze accounts payable data and trends to identify potential issues. Provide insights and recommendations to management for cost-saving opportunities Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations. Maintain strong internal controls to mitigate fraud risk. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in accounts payable, with leadership experience preferred. Strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient in dealer management software (e.g., CDK, Procede). Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
