Responsibilities
• Project management, coordination, and review of data requests submitted by business units and corporate departments supporting footnotes and financial statements• Preparation and/or review of materials for externally reported information, including the quarterly earnings release and stand-alone reporting of financial statements• Preparation, review, and analysis of monthly financial results for internal reporting to senior management and the Board of Directors• Research and documentation of significant accounting and reporting issues• Benchmark peer filings and recommend SEC-compliant disclosures• Prepare updates of SOX control documentation and perform testing• Involvement in special projects, including assistance with month-end close and consolidations• Interact with business unit and corporate management• Work with internal and external auditors• Identify process improvements and implement efficiencies
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree with major in Accounting/Finance or related discipline• Five (5) plus years of experience in related field• Fundamental knowledge of accounting and finance concepts• Experience with financial applications (i.e., PeopleSoft, HFM, PowerPlan) and query tool (WebI)• Proficiency in Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Key Skills Needed
• CPA or working toward CPA• Advanced degree in Accounting• Significant experience with financial reporting• Previous experience in utility or regulatory accounting environment• Previous experience in reviewing and directing the work of others• Knowledge of SEC rules and regulations• Effective communication and collaboration skills• Advanced project management and analytical skills• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet strict deadlines• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
