This is a full time position, scheduled 40 hours per week. The Laundry Technician's schedule includes 2 days at the washers and 3 days at the folding table. Schedule rotates days from 6:00 am - 2:30 pm (Washer) and 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (Folding). Must be available to work rotating weekends.
What you'll do: Complete duties assigned to you by the Environmental Services Supervisor. Wash and dry all dirty linens, towels, rags, etc. as directed by supervisor for residents. Remove and sort dirty linens and towels from laundry. Deliver clean linens to units. Clean lint traps, remove trash, replace liners, and mop floors in laundry area. Notify maintenance department of malfunctioning machinery. Always practice safe work habits to ensure safety to residents and fellow employees Follow infection control policies to keep staff and residents safe. Maintain a neat and professional appearance. Follow Maryville Policies and respect the Residents Bill of Rights. Complete monthly in-services by required due date. What you'll need: Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of various laundry equipment. Ability to extend arms, scrub, bend, stoop, and stand and walk for extended periods of time. Ability to lift, bend, stoop, carry, push or pull heavy loads, and stand for long periods of time. Able to communicate, cooperate, and work as a team to finish the job in a timely matter. Able solve problems and work independently. Physical Requirements: Able to bend, twist, and stoop, lift up to 25 pounds. Able to stand for prolong periods. Able to grip, push and pull laundry carts. Preferred Experience: Experience in a healthcare setting.
