Thomas Talent Network is currently seeking a dynamic full-time Land Planner / Urban Designer to join our Landscape Architecture and Land Planning Studio in Chattanooga. We're looking for someone who brings creativity, collaboration, and a genuine passion for crafting authentic, innovative, and practical spaces.
In this role, you'll have the chance to dive into a diverse array of projects, focusing primarily on public sector initiatives such as community comprehensive plans, parks and recreation planning, community mobility strategies, streetscape and urban design, green infrastructure, as well as civic and downtown master planning. As part of our multi-disciplinary firm, you'll collaborate with professionals from various backgrounds and expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist senior planners and project managers in producing master planning documents for federal projects.
- Support project teams with data collection, analysis, and preparation of plans, maps, GIS production, and report graphics.
- Facilitate client workshops, establish project frameworks, budgets, and schedules.
- Review and refine planning and design documents throughout project lifecycles.
- Contribute to proposal preparation and team assignments.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficient in interpreting community plans, resource documents, and data sources.
- Skilled in facilitating group discussions and consensus-building.
- Familiarity with comprehensive planning, zoning codes, entitlement processes, and transportation plans.
- Experience managing and mentoring teams, utilizing ArcGIS Pro, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
- Ability to lead meetings with clients, design professionals, and various agencies.
- AICP certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Environmental Planning & Design, or related field.
- 4-8+ years of experience in land planning and design with a portfolio showcasing community-related projects.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, MS Office, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong adaptability and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and within multi-disciplinary teams.
