Scope: We are seeking a Research and Development Laboratory Support Technologist to join a diverse team that helps tackle some of the most challenging issues facing our nation's security!
The successful candidate will support a team that conducts maintenance and operations of powered machinery in a laboratory facility.
Job Duties: Clean and rebuild components for pulsed power systems. Troubleshoot existing components for faults. Develop new processes to improve efficiency and safety. Maintenance and repair of pulsed power systems within oil/water tank. Maintain and operate pulsed power component testers. Work within a beryllium contaminated area. Use safe practices for all processes. Represent the ESS/PFS team during Z shot processes. Reach out across the division to support and build relationships. Assisting with Laser Trigger System (LTS) in ESS tank. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Education: HS diploma or equivalent
AND Experience: 2-5 years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting electrical or mechanical systems. You will also need experience with mechanical tools (wrenches, pliers, torque wrench, calipers, screwdrivers, etc.).
Security Clearance: The ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance – level Q is required.
