Job Summary:  Performs phlebotomy, specimen processing and limited laboratory tests as defined by CLIA Section 493.1421 and associated support work as directed by the Laboratory Manager and Laboratory Supervisor as approved by the Laboratory Medical Director. Cooperates and communicates professionally with the medical and nursing staff and hospital personnel. Uses technical knowledge to effectively make sound clinical decisions concerning lab issues and to troubleshoot problems.
Required Education, Skills, and/or Abilities: High school education or equivalent.Must provide copy of diploma or transcript.1 year of phlebotomy experience preferred.Must have either an SRNA license (with no restrictions), CMA, or an approved Phlebotomy certification.Works cooperatively and communicates effectively.Follows oral and written instructions.Initiative, accuracy, and judgment needed to determine the needs of the Laboratory.Excellent communication skills.Ability to make sound clinical decisions based on patient condition and lab results.Computer skills and ability to type.Ability to organize and prioritize workload and work independently.Excellent customer service.Education Requirements (Any)HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENT Certification Requirements (Any)Phlebotomy
