Kiosk Operator- Customer Service Associate

Since 1969, we've led the industry in developing innovative technologies for recycling scrap into high-quality steels that are all around us, from bridges and buildings to cars and appliances.Basic Job Functions:Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.Buying of non-ferrous metals from the public, properly identifying material into the appropriate type or gradeGreet and assist retail customers in purchasing non-ferrous scrap metal creating a positive customer experienceAccurately identify the various non-ferrous scrap materials and grade accordingly, understanding the different pricing of materialsValidate proper identification and paperwork from retail customersConduct monthly retail inventoryIdentify non-conforming or unacceptable types of scrap materialFollow and enforce all buying procedures and best practices to ensure compliance with local and state laws as well as Company policyOperate small material handling equipment as necessary to move materials for processingClean and maintain work areaAll other tasks as assignedMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED requiredPrevious experience requiring customer service to public, vendors or internal contactsStrong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent customer service skills Strong organizational skills with attention to detailsAbility to be flexible and display a positive attitude in a fast-paced environmentWilling to work Monday to Friday and Saturdays as requiredWilling to work outside in all weather conditions Basic math and computer skillsMust wear all necessary PPE while working or while in the yard.Follows company safety standards at all timesThe right candidate must be able to effectively interact with customers and vendorsWilling to learn, be adaptable and be self-motivatedPreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of scrap materials a plus.Schedule: Mon- Fri 7:45am - 4:30pm / Saturday 7:45am - NoonMedical and dental are just the beginning.
