Georgia-Pacific Albany Lumber is now hiring a Kiln Operator.
Salary: Our starting pay is at $20.00/hour. You will have the ability to increase your compensation based on skills and contribution to the overall performance of the mill. Shift: Rotating Shift 12 hour shifts. Shift starts at 7:00 a.m./7:00 p.m. Shift rotation is as follows: Work 4 Days, Off 7 Days, Work 4 Nights, Off 3 Days, Work 3 Days, Off 1 Day, Work 3 Nights, Off 3 Days. Only candidates who are flexible and available to work any shift will be considered. This will include overtime, holidays, and weekends based on production needs. Physical Location:

Our team creates value by safely assisting with the production of lumber for our valued customers. What You Will Do Know all safety procedures associated with forklift operation. Know how to react appropriately in the event of a critical alarm. Know all fire, high temp, and CO alarm procedures. Stack lumber neat and well organized on every occasion. Perform basic maintenance and housekeeping on a forklift. Ensure work area is neat and organized. Housekeeping must be maintained each shift. Use MOE system to enter work orders for forklift or kiln needs. Change starting/stopping times that fits production needs. Operate equipment to defined standards and product specification targets Monitor and/or entry into computer control systems Troubleshoot equipment to optimize production Perform basic asset care duties to include routine preventative maintenance and cleaning of work area Work as a team to help meet or exceed production, waste, quality, and safety goals Operate and/or work around mobile equipment that ranges from forklifts to heavy equipment Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day, in a loud/noisy, and industrial, high-volume environment Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) One year experience in a manufacturing, industrial, agricultural, or military environment OR completion of post high school education in a manufacturing/industrial centered program At least 1 year of experience driving and operating a forklift within an industrial or manufacturing environment What Will Put You Ahead Experience within the lumber industry Experience Operating a Taylor Forklift Our Benefits
