This job will be located in Cambridge, MA and Burlington, MA.
We are seeking a Junior Systems Administrator.

We predominantly deliver our services on-site in Cambridge, MA, and Burlington, MA, ensuring a superior level of customer service. The role requires the ability to work on-site, for which we offer support with parking, transportation costs, and T fees. Recognizing the importance of work-life balance, we also offer the flexibility of remote work or working from home, subject to client requirements and your expertise.
We are looking for someone with a foundation in troubleshooting basic computer and server issues demonstrated through education, work experience, or certification. Ideal candidate must be flexible, learn quickly, and have strong interpersonal skills to deliver the customer service expected of our MSP delivery model.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond to support requests including software installations, upgrades, patches, and user account modifications.
Troubleshoot and repair workstations, including OS and application issues.
Build and maintain infrastructure, including server loads, cluster management, and antivirus software installations.
Install and troubleshoot network hardware, including switches, routers, and storage devices.
Monitor and tune backup software and jobs.
Develop procedures and knowledgebase materials, and test beta software in a test environment.
Manage time effectively, track technical notes, and attend client sites and meetings promptly.
Complete projects on time with minimal supervision and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications:
Network certification or equivalent
experience/education.
Minimum of three years of experience in system administration.
Demonstrated project management and organizational skills.
Excellent problem-solving skills and logical thinking.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable with PowerShell script
creation/modification.
Team player with a passion for technology.
Desirable Attributes:
Experience in network consulting/MSP.
Experience working with a helpdesk system.
Technical Experience:
Experience with routing, switching, firewalls, and wireless networking.
Proficiency in Windows Server management (Active Directory, HyperV, Clustering, DNS, DHCP, Terminal Server, PowerShell, etc.).
Familiarity with Security and Backup Tools (Azure Entra, SIEM, SOC, EDR, Bitdefender, Watchguard, VEEAM, Zerto, etc.).
Experience with ConnectWise Tools (Automate, Manage).
Support capabilities for Office 365 and SharePoint Online.
Certifications:
Technical certifications such as CompTIA, ITIL, and Microsoft certifications are advantageous.
Work Conditions:
Full-time salaried position, averaging 40 hours per week.
Standard work hours are 8:30 AM – 5 PM, Monday to Friday. Alternative schedules may be considered upon request.
Occasional weekend or after-hours work may be required.
Physical ability to move equipment up to 55 pounds.
