COMPENSATION: $21 - $25 per hour

JOB STATUS: Full Time and Hourly
POSITION REPORTS TO: Community Employment Manager
SCHEDULE: 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, with a half-hour lunch break, Monday to Friday. Additional hours may
be required as needed; any overtime must be pre-approved by your direct manager.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Under limited direction, the Job Developer is responsible for establishing and
maintaining relationships with employers and community organizations to develop job opportunities and
support continued employment for Consumers. The role involves coordinating day-to-day activities such
as soliciting employer interest and involvement in the employment of Consumers, distributing flyers,
posting opportunities, and maintaining records of all leads and job developing data; placement data.
SCOPE #1: As a Job Developer, the employee will work to assist Consumers in finding employment
opportunities in community settings by partnering with local businesses, organizations, and community
groups. Duties will include creating job opportunities, matching job seekers with suitable positions, and
helping with various types of job placements such as Group Employment, Individual Placement,
Internship Placement, and Customized Employment. The Job Developer will serve as a key intermediary
between job seekers and employers to help Consumers successfully enter the workforce.

Job Developer:
? Initiates job developing with local businesses; and maintains personal contacts with business and
industry representatives.
? Responsible for presenting and promoting Ability Counts' mission to current and potential clients.
? Responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with new and existing employers to
identify employer needs and how Ability Counts Consumers may fill those needs.
? Develops marketing and promotional materials to advertise job placement services and activities
to local businesses, at marketing events and the community.
? Participates in outreach and recruitment activities by coordinating / creating and attending job
fairs and/or screening events.
? Maintains contact with employers and assists in researching problems, complaints, or concerns.
? Follows up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity.
? Keeps current with labor market trends and employment resources; updates labor market
information by researching online resources; and networking with professional/community
organizations that are involved in job placement/training activities.
? Compiles data and prepares reports and correspondence regarding job development and
placement efforts.

? Communicates new service/employment opportunities, special developments, information, or
feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate ACI staff.
? Develops and maintains presentation materials and current industry knowledge.
? Develops and builds positive and professional partnerships with members, employers, and fellow
team members.
? Creates task analysis for new jobs and updates existing task analysis
? Prepares Job Portfolios for each job site.
? Maintains professional and ethical employment standards at all times
? Assists with performing time motion analysis and maintains all time study documents in a secure
location.
? Solicits outcome surveys with Business Customers and completes the appropriate employer
survey questionnaire.
? May be required to substitute other Job Coaches; and/or train Job Coaches on new and existing
contracts.
Additional Duties:
? Participate in job fairs, seminars, and trade shows.
? May perform work in other classifications at the same or lower level.
? Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities that will be assigned from time to time.
? May perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
EDUCATION: Associates Degree with relevant coursework (such as Human Resources, Social Services,
Marketing, Public Relations, or Business Administration) or a combination of experience and education.
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years experience working with adults with intellectual or physical disabilities;
experience in job development, job placement, sales, or closely related field.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Position requires frequent travel to area community organizations and
businesses. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and to be a self-starter, while working
as an effective team player. Proficient in reading, writing and math skills; proficient in office software's,
Google applications, and Case Magic software programs. Excellent communication, grammar and
interpersonal skills; keen attention to details. Valid California driver's license and driving record
acceptable to insurance companies. CPR and First Aid certificate required.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common, technical documents; operating and maintenance
instructions; respond to inquiries and complaints from staff, customers, and other stakeholders; represent
the company in a professional manner to top management and public; speak effectively before groups.
Skilled in problem solving matters that may arise and create solutions; basic mathematical skills and
operations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth
perception; hand and finger dexterity. Duties and responsibilities performed normally do require physical
requirements including standing, walking, bending, squatting, and carrying, pushing, pulling and
occasional lifting of material up to 30 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Spends 60% or more of scheduled work hours in the community. For example, meeting Consumers at the
employer's worksite, meeting with potential employers at local business, job fairs, seminars and other
trade shows. The rest of the time the Job Developer/Administrative Assistant works in an office
environment. Works well under pressure of deadlines. May be exposed to a warehouse

environment;exposed to various chemicals, fumes, odors, dust, heat, cold, wind and seasonal changes in
climate.
