The NonVessel Operations Coordinator will work within a wellestablished team facilitating the importation of cargo in a timely and accurate manner. They will be customer focused and responsible for the release of cargo release based on established criteria and systems. This position requires an energetic selfmotivated and detailoriented person with solid follow through.
This is a challenging role that will require competing priorities in tandem with the coordination of import or export shipments. in the NVO space. Thoughtfulness and organization will be key whilst working throughout their varying daily tasks. This includes but is not limited to rate confirmations data entry arrival / invoice preparation scheduling delivery with vendors/customers etc.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES Communicate between client and overseas for booking reports Export and Airfreight coordination Ability to perform work under time constraints Facilitate all aspects of importation of cargo as necessary: i.e. arrange door delivery arrange customs clearance through network of services. Update and complete arrival notices as they are downloaded from our overseas offices. Track and trace shipments keeping customers well informed of any / all changes. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as freight rates discounts and other percentages Maintain documentation and records according to established company paperless protocol. Solid communication skills both written and verbal Ability to travel and connect between key customers Proficient in world geography shipping documentation and Incoterms An understanding of Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT). Able to take direction from supervisor and superiors. Computer knowledge at user level Use and familiarity of Microsoft Office suite products (i.e. Outlook Word Excel) Experience researching problems for customers and proposing wellthoughtout solutions Responsible for integrating and optimizing ocean shipping and delivery resources continuously reducing costs optimizing operational efficiency and improving profitability. As needed negotiate rates capacities and establish KPIs pertaining to NVO operations and report weekly/monthly success to management. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese in order to present information to customers and management in a professional setting QUALIFICATIONS/CONDITIONS EDUCATIONAL Bachelors degree (Business Logistics and Supply Chain or associate field) or equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of educational requirement
5 years of Ocean experience in Freight Forwarding or thirdparty logistics company
Work experience for a NVOCC is an asset.
Completion of any industry related course is an asset
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES High energy selfmotivated and detailoriented person with import/export experience
Lawrenceville Georgia Reliably commute to Customer sites as needed
FMC rate filling HS HTS and Schedule B (Preferred).
