Introducing The New Medical Humanities Minor

Carthage will offer a new interdisciplinary minor in medical humanities starting fall 2024.
A minor in medical humanities holistically prepares students graduating in health sciences to become patient-centered, ethically knowledgeable, and culturally competent practitioners in the art of medicine. However, the minor is open to all Carthage students who are interested.
Medical humanities helps students explore an interdisciplinary approach to learning about and building essential skills, including cultural competence, communication, ethics, social skills, and service orientations that are required for graduate programs for health professions but are seldom featured explicitly in natural sciences coursework.
