Responsibilities
• Superuser and Planner of daily booking management via TMS (Transportation Management System)• Create and maintain standard work and standard operating procedures• Secure advance bookings and tender shipments to appointed carriers• Build and maintain a logistics route program• Connect daily with internal customers, external suppliers, and global freight forwarders• Track and trace international shipments• Use visibility tools to help manage exceptions and monitor on-time booking requests• Meet or exceed established KPIs• Liaise with internal departments across business units• Perform other duties associated with international logistics
Requirements
• 7+ years of experience in international logistics operations• Thorough understanding of Incoterms®, ocean booking process, letters of credit, and customs formalities• Experience in the implementation and operation of web-enabled Transportation Management systems• Bachelor's degree required• Global Freight Forwarding experience is a plus
Key Skills Needed
• Strong knowledge of the booking process with ocean carriers (NVOCC), truckers, and drayage companies• Strong analytical skills• Ability to influence change effectively• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills• Ability to function as a leader, an individual contributor, and in a team environment• Ability to multitask and work under time constraints• Experience with Lean concepts such as Six Sigma• Strong customer focus
