Providence St Vincent Internal Medicine Residency Program is seeking an exceptional Clinician Educator with interest in both outpatient and inpatient medicine to become a core faculty member with our organization. This long-standing, community-based, residency program that exists within a large tertiary care hospital matches outstanding residents (8 categorical and 4 preliminary interns each year) and enjoys an academic and collaborative atmosphere. Core faculty work primarily in an integrated faculty-resident continuity clinic, which utilizes an innovative Medical Home model, while also frequently attending on the inpatient wards, with a unique interdisciplinary bedside rounding model focused on a geographical unit. Additionally, faculty have ample administrative time to be engaged in multiple aspects of resident education and program development. Applicants must be board certified in Internal Medicine and have a passion for teaching. Located in Portland, Oregon - the jewel of the Pacific Northwest - the city has a vibrant urban culture and close proximity to mountains, forests, the beach, and sun-drenched central Oregon.
Full-time position with direct care of your own patient panel, as well as precepting residents + protected FTE focused on academic responsibilities (including teaching, evaluations, scholarly activity and faculty development sessions) Includes both inpatient and outpatient patient care Work closely with GME leadership of the Internal Medicine Residency program to provide vision, leadership, collaboration, and supervision for the internal medicine residents and medical students Experienced physicians or early-career physicians with a passion for teaching are encouraged to apply Where You'll Work Founded in 1875, Providence St. Vincent Medical Center has the distinction of being Oregon's first hospital.
