10 months Job Summary (2-3 sentences describing job purpose): Interns are to be exposed to and, to the extent possible, actively participate in a variety of critical and typical experiences of a school psychologist. The purpose is to gain independence in the areas of assessment, evaluation, consultation, intervention, decision making, and supports available to students in both general and special education in accordance of NASP's Professional standards and MNPS SOP for school psychologists. Reports to: MNPS School Psychology Intern Liaison Department Name: Exceptional Education Primary Job Duties/Responsibilities : List, in the order of importance or time spent, the essential duties/tasks performed by the position. This is not an exhaustive list and employees may be assigned additional duties by management as required.Regular and reliable attendance is an expectation of the job.
Job Duty/Resp. 1:
Adhering to NASP's professional standards and ethics at all times during the internship
Job Duty/Resp. 2:
Maintaining a daily log documenting dates/times worked and activities identified. These are shared with the intern supervisor weekly and other appropriate stakeholders.
Job Duty/Resp. 3:
Participation in supervisory sessions and college-based internship meetings
Job Duty/Resp. 4:
Participation/facilitation of IEP team meetings supporting team members that result in meeting the needs of students while also following state/federal and local guidelines.
Job Duty/Resp. 5:
Student Support Team and data meeting participation. Demonstration of data-based decision making and using the data to support stakeholder's decision-making.
Job Duty/Resp. 6:
Consultation with parents, school staff, and colleagues to meet the needs of students and the school.
Job Duty/Resp. 7:
Provision of school-based interventions such as group and individual counseling
Job Duty/Resp. 8:
Attend school psychology division in-services, training and staff meetings
Job Duty/Resp. 9:
Understanding and participation across all MTSS tiers to support both academic and behavior.
Job Duty/Resp. 10:
Competency with a variety of assessment tools that span domains of cognition, achievement, observation, social, emotional, and behavior regarding TN DOE standards for Educational Disabilities.
Job Duty/Resp. 11:
The verbal and written expression of academic, psychological, social, behavioral, and psychometric data in a manner that a variety of persons (e.g., parents, administrators, teachers, school psychologists, and other stakeholders) can understand to make decisions in the best interest of students.

Education and Experience Requirements Education (training/degree) : Completion of school psychology graduate-level course requirements before beginning internship. Licenses, Certifications or Registrations Required: Passing a background check Experience: Successful completion of practica and recommendation from the university, indicating the intern's readiness for a school-based internship. Skills Required: Graduate level preparation in the areas of current assessment, evaluation, consultation, MTSS, and report writing based on NASP's standard for the preparation of school psychologists.
