The Risk Valuations Group is responsible for understanding, implementing, and ensuring accurate valuation processes, practices, and modeling across all StoneX Group Inc.- owned companies for all traded products. The group also works closely with the Market Risk team to research appropriate margining techniques and stress test methodology used for setting trading limits. The traded instruments range from simple spot transactions to exotic options across almost all financially traded asset classes including Equities, Fixed Income, Currencies, Grains, Metals, Energy, and Softs.
Start to develop complete understanding of firmwide trading positions, systems, models, data inputs and pricing sources across all entities to ensure completeness, accuracy and validity of all prices and margins. Analyze and provide recommendations to improve the processes and procedures for ensuring accurate, daily mark-to-market of customer and company positions. Monitor processes and price testing sources with ability to document, present findings and offer alternative solutions. Research analysis to assist the company with capital allocation decisions. Conduct stress testing analysis for the firm's various entities Participate in model development reviews with other risk, back-office and front-office personnel or groups. Participate in new product/system reviews and represent the Risk Valuation group point of view. With Market Risk, research various instruments and margining techniques, and suggest trading limit methodologies. Build working relationships with risk strategy, risk compliance, front-office IT and back-office IT to accomplish all the tasks of the valuation group. Keeps abreast of new developments in the field their internship is in. Properly handles client requests through responsiveness, follow-up and escalation to a more senior team member if necessary. Works proactively with other team members. Maintains prompt and regular attendance. Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Math, Computer Science, Quantitative Finance or relevant field graduating between December 2023 and August 2024 (entering penultimate year of university) Available for a June 2023 start date for an 8 – 10-week program Proficiency in at least one of the following: Python, SQL, MATLAB, SAS, R Some Knowledge of both derivatives lifecycles and how derivative valuations are calculated Some knowledge in working with market data terminals (Bloomberg, Reuters) Strong verbal/written communication abilities and effective interpersonal skills Strong sense of urgency Strong work ethic and emphasis on attention to detail Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer
