Job description This role is part of the Lunar Transportation business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.
The role includes both personnel management of Lunar Integration and Test Engineers in Washington and project engineering for Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE). The Manager is a leader of a diverse and hardworking team of engineers who perform testing and integration as well as developing the electrical test equipment used across the entire spectrum of component, subsystem, and vehicle development and verification tests.
Travel: Position nominally has about 10% travel with infrequent select periods up to 50% to support testing at remote sites.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Integrate, coordinate, and triage engineering support across integrated product teams and test engineers. Recruit, hire, manage, and mentor a diverse, equitable, and inclusive team. Lead their employees' professional development (e.g., performance evaluations, compensation and promotion management, and routine one-on-one development conversations) and coach them on career development. People management is intended to be 30% of the scope of work for this role.
