Primary Purpose:
At the company, we collaborate with our clients to ensure that policyholder premiums accurately reflect their risk exposure. As a 1099 contractor, you'll engage with commercial businesses either in-person or virtually to meticulously review financial and payroll data.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality premium audits and quality reviews in a timely manner, primarily focusing on workers' compensation, general liability, and garage and auto liability.
- Perform various types of audits, including physical, virtual, telephone, and voluntary audits, catering to different business needs and preferences.
- Note: The frequency and volume of assignments may vary by location and skill set.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Premium Auditors are compensated as 1099 contractors, with earnings typically ranging between $38-$50 per billable hour, inclusive of audit completion and report writing time.
- Quality Reviewers are also paid as 1099 contractors, with compensation determined by the client's pay scale.
- Contractors traveling beyond a 60-mile radius receive mileage reimbursement, as well as meal and lodging allowances for overnight work.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- At least two years of experience in the premium audit industry, with comprehensive knowledge of all lines of coverage, including Worker's Compensation, General Liability, Auto, and Garage, across all states.
- Ability to manage a reasonable territory (typically within a 60-mile radius), travel, and work flexibly, including availability during regular business hours throughout the week.
- Proficiency in maintaining product quality according to industry standards and specific client requirements.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Proficient in PC operations, including Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with a consultative approach.
- Professional demeanor and exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and interpretive abilities.
- Familiarity with the California workers' compensation classification system, basic manual rules, and industry advisory resources.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry designations such as APA, CIPA, or CPCU.
- WCIRB CompEssentials certification.
- Any other relevant licenses and/or certifications.
Note: A motor vehicle record check, confirmed via a background screening, is mandatory for this position.
