Job Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide formal classroom instruction in accordance with the Naval Expeditionary Operations Staff Planners (NEOP) Program of Instruction (POI). Support the maintenance and execution of the NEOP course material in order to fulfill the training objectives identified in the POI and as indicated by input from various training, fleet, and operating forces representatives, formative and summative evaluations, and inspection of the course. Support the maintenance of planning tools, milestones, coordinating documents, and training curricula to design and implement the NEOP. The process will include all five phases of the SATE process and be responsible for providing requisite curriculum development support to government completion standards of all master lesson files (MLF) and instructor support products required to instruct the course. Provide subject matter expertise (SME) participation at Exercise Conferences, bi-annual Course Curriculum Review Boards (CCRB) sponsored by EWTGLANT, and other events where NEOP-related curriculum is used and/or discussed. Following the CCRB recommendations, provide curriculum support to EWTGLANT in developing any new and sustainment MLF and other course-associated material. Prepare lesson plans that reflect the material content and methodology required to achieve the instructional objectives, including: Detailing subject matter and references to be included in the POI Developing course material, study guides, visual aids, simulations, proficiency charts, training aids, handouts, and course outlines Determining optimal instructional methods to best convey the course material Constructing questions pertaining to the area of instructional responsibility for inclusion in course examination Revising lesson plans to include updated course material, coordinating updates in concert with other related courses of instruction Support course material research, development, and curriculum updates to include: Researching training source material to ensure currency, adequacy, and accuracy of documents  Provide research support to the application of lessons learned pertinent to amphibious operations doctrine and procedures.  Support assimilation of current directives concerning new systems, doctrine, and technical information procedures and recommend changes in course content or materials as required.  Support evaluation and assessment adequacy and appropriateness of course content Participate in course reviews with EWTGLANT as required Recommend course revisions based on subject matter expertise Review, revise, develop, and produce within the Marine Corps Training Information Management System (MCTIMS) all required training and instructional materials for the NEOP. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described. Qualifications Education Minimum Bachelor's degree with ten (10) years of subject matter experience. Completion of the Marine Corps Basic Instructor Course or Navy Journeyman Instructor Training is preferred.  Completion of the Marine Corps Curriculum Developers Course is preferred. Experience Minimum of three years of experience as an instructor of professional or adult learning material.  A minimum of 15 years experience in the United States Marine Corps, Navy Surface Warfare community, or other organization(s) with assignments dealing with amphibious operations. A minimum of four years experience in amphibious operations, amphibious operation planning, doctrine development, exercise planning and execution, and/or training at the Amphibious Squadron, Expeditionary Strike Group, Marine Expeditionary Unit, Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), and/or Marine Expeditionary Brigade (MEB) level. Ideal candidate: Former SNCO or Officer with strong Instructor experience and Amphibious operations experience. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Detailed knowledge of Marine Corps Systems Approach to Training and Education Handbook NAVMC 1553.1A, Marine Corps Warfighting Publication 5.1, Joint Publication 3-02, and all other Navy and Marine Corps publications applicable to staff planning, amphibious operations, and command and control. Strong communication and presentation skills. Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Able to design and write clear communications and present training programs.  Familiarity with current trends, doctrine, and systems in use by the amphibious warfare community. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Additional Information Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus. Daily travel in the local area during the workday (including the use of a personal vehicle).
