About Binghamton University: The stateof New York provided $60 million to establish a School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Binghamton University. The school, whichenrolled its inaugural PharmD class in 2017, is housed in a state-of-the-art, 105,000 square-foot building dedicated to research andeducation and located at the University's new Health Sciences Campus. The school's outstanding pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences leadersuse contemporary medication management and innovative research to transform human health locally and globally. The research and clinicallyfocused school is training the next generations of graduates to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered pharmaceutical care to diversegroups of patients, especially those in underserved rural and geriatric communities. Our new pharmacy simulation laboratory houses ahospital pharmacy with a 797-compliant sterile room, community pharmacy with a robotic dispenser, patient home setting, and three hospitalrooms complete with electrocardiographic/respiratory/hemodynamic monitoring and high-fidelity manikins.
The School of Pharmacy andPharmaceutical Sciences is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). MS and PhD programs in PharmaceuticalSciences launched in fall 2022 to further advance the school's translational, clinical and outcomes research within the changing landscapeof drug development, pharmacy practice and clinical science.

Job Description: Budget Title: Instructional Support Associate(SL-2)
Salary: $50,000 - $60,000, (at 90% of full-time)
The individual hired for this position will provide instructionalsupport in three areas: 1) the pharmacy technician training program (60%), 2) the MS/PhD/PharmD programs (20%) and 3) the TRUST program(20)%. The individual will be responsible for assisting with designing, implementing, delivering, and assessing the micro- credentialprogram. They must be well-versed in pharmaceutical principles, medication dispensing, regulatory compliance and patient safety.
TheRural and Underserved Service Track (TRUST) is 2-year, interprofessional, co-curricular program, for students enrolled in BinghamtonUniversity (School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Department of Social Work, Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences, andDivision of Public Health) or SUNY Upstate Medical University (Norton College of Medicine). Currently, students participate in 8 learningretreats and 10 service-learning activities over the course of two years in a micro-credentialed program. There are approximately 80scholars currently enrolled in the program, with representation from each discipline. The program aims to expand to other regionalhealthcare professionals with an asynchronous hybrid training platform in the upcoming years. The individual hired for this position willaid in the coordination and documentation of components of the TRUST program (retreats and service activities), troubleshoot and directstudent questions, track student requirements, and collect and analyze program evaluations and metrics.
Our MS and PhD programs inPharm Sciences launched in Fall of 2022 and offer didactic and laboratory coursework leading to careers in academic or industry research andbeyond. The MS program may enroll up to 15 new students and the PhD program up to 7 new PhD students each year.
This position is apart-time position (90% FTE).
Essential Duties: Pharmacy Technician Micro-CredentialProgram Develop a Micro credential Training Program: Create training materials, curricula, and lesson plans to educatepharmacy technician learners on topics such as pharmaceutical calculations, medication dosage forms, drug interactions, and pharmacyoperations. Assist with Student Recruitment and Admissions: Assist Admissions and Student Affairs division with learner recruitmentand admissions. Deliver Training: Conduct training sessions and hands-on demonstrations for pharmacy technicianlearners. Compliance and Regulations: Ensure that the training aligns with ACPE, American Society of Health- System Pharmacist(ASHP), and New York State pharmacy technician licensure requirements such that the learner is eligible to take and pass a national pharmacytechnician certification examination. Pharmacy Technology: Instruct pharmacy technician learners on the proper use of pharmacysoftware, automation, and technology systems. Medication Management: Teach medication dispensing procedures, including prescriptionprocessing, medication preparation, and labeling. Patient Interaction: Train pharmacy technician learners in effective communicationand customer service skills, emphasizing patient interaction and confidentiality. Clinical Knowledge: Provide instruction on basicclinical knowledge, such as disease states, drug classifications, and pharmaceutical compounding. Quality Assurance: Monitor andevaluate the performance of pharmacy technician learners through assessments, quizzes, and practical exams to ensure they meet trainingobjectives. Documentation: Maintain records of training activities, attendance, and performance assessment for compliance andreporting purposes. Feedback and Support: Offer constructive feedback, mentorship, and support to pharmacy technician learners tohelp them improve their skills and knowledge. Program Evaluation: Track student completion of program and micro-credentialrequirements, and compile student surveys and evaluations into a database for analysis. Assessment: Assist with program assessmentand accreditation processes. TRUST Program Program Management: Oversee an asynchronous hybridtraining platform for the TRUST program for regional healthcare professionals; implement regional service activities; facilitate thelogistics of learning retreats. Communication: Maintenance of the TRUST email account, including troubleshooting student inquiriesand directing questions to faculty as needed. Coordination of program events with faculty, students, and community partners. MS/PhD/PharmD Programs Student Recruitment: Assist with new student recruitment efforts. StudentRecords: Perform maintenance of student records using Degree Works. Work with faculty and department leadership as needed to run reports andperform data analysis of student records. Student Progression: Work with the Office of Student Affairs Office and faculty to monitorstudent progression. Alumni Outreach: Maintain current contacts for alumni and help to facilitate connections betweenfaculty/students and alumni. Internships and Scholarships: Help to identify and publicize internship and scholarship opportunitiesfor MS/PhD students. Assist with instruction: Provide instructional support for skills labs. Requirements: Associate's degree (or higher) Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential with relevant state licensing OR licensedpharmacist (RPh) Minimum of 7 years prior experience as a pharmacy technician Strong understanding of pharmacyoperations Prior experience training/teaching other pharmacy technicians Availability to work some evenings andweekends Preferred:
