Our success is due to a culture created by our founder that embodies these principles: Our employees are our most important asset, we stand by our word, and our customer's needs are our number one priority.If you are looking for a career where you make a difference with over 1,000 team players, please read on.Maintenance TechnicianThe QP Maintenance Tech is responsible for but not limited to the following areas of working on and maintaining horizontal form fill and seal equipment, shrink wrap tunnels, forklift minor repairs, stretch wrapper, print registered bundle wrappers and heavy electrical work in the warehouse along with building maintenance. He/she must have great communication skills through phone, email and personal contact.Responsibilities and Essential DutiesPerform routine preventative maintenance on mechanical handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, sweepers, etc.)Document records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs.Select repair parts and update parts records.Repair mechanical damage and replace defective parts, which may include welding, brazing, and soldering. Repairs are made to mechanical handling equipment, racking, floors, plumbing, piping, and other warehouse structural components.Maintenance and repair of batteries and chargers.Applies mechanical skills and knowledge to troubleshooting and repair of electrical, plumbing, pipe fitting, fabrication, building construction, and other warehouse maintenance/repair situations.Reads and interprets schematics, drawings, and other diagnostic aids in the scope of troubleshooting, repair, and fabrication work.Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.Familiar with mechanical hand tools, and with measuring (tape measures, micrometers, drill gauges, etc.)Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.Comply with OSHA Safety and Health regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work areaJob Contacts (main interfaces inside and outside the company)Facility Managers, Operation Managers, Outside Contractors, Warehouse Personnel & Office PersonnelKnowledge, skills and experience- *requiredCandidate Requirements- TangiblesStrong electrical troubleshooting skillsStrong mechanical aptitudeUnderstanding of high-voltage wiring (480V 3-phase motors)Multi-craft maintenance and repair (e.g., performing interrelated repairs on electrical systems and mechanical systemsWillingness to work under pressure to fix equipmentWork urgently to get the equipment back up and runningTroubleshooting issues on a wide variety of equipmentWill conduct repair failures of production and facilities equipmentEnsure maximum equipment efficiency, effectiveness, and reliabilityResponding to maintenance calls is part of your job, and this can sometimes mean helping complete a repair that has already been startedYou will inspect machines, develop repair lists, and identify short-term and long-term repairs so that machines run correctlyCandidate Requirements- IntangiblesCustomer Service: given our emphasis on mechanical aptitude, you might be surprised to see customer service listed here, but remember we interact with all levels of team members on the floor. Safety is everyone's jobEducational Background:· Minimum of a High School Diploma, 5 years equivalent experience.Knowledge/Skills Required:Basic computer skills including use of Microsoft Office.Experience with C.M.M.S. software (Preventive Maintenance/Work Order distribution systems).Understanding encoders and equipment timing.Knowledge of Servo drives and motors.Variable Frequency drive operation and configuration.Basic knowledge of logic software.Strong knowledge of how components interact with PLC's (photo eyes, proximity sensors, etc.).Preferred Knowledge/Skills:Some college is desirableFluent in Spanish, both written and verbal, is considered an assetAbout Pro Pac and Qual PacFounded in 1971, Professional Packaging Systems (Pro Pac) brings deep knowledge and expertise to provide the best packaging solutions for our customers.
