GSK is currently looking for an Indirect Buyer to join our Team in Rockville, MD. The Indirect Buyer is responsible for utilizing SAP to assure on time delivery of indirect materials so that the GMP Manufacturing of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient can meet agreed upon schedule. The Planner interacts with SAP with respect to all indirect materials and services procured at Rockville Biopharm. The Indirect buyer will establish a process to effectively track and manager all Indirect POs from time of PO request to final payment. As such, the Indirect Buyer will be responsible for liaising any escalations between the business owners, suppliers, and the Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) team. This role will support the management of $67m+ in annual spend for all Indirect purchasing needs at Rockville.
Key Responsibilities: Procedures: Ensures compliance with relevant Standard Operating Procedures and cGMP Participates in cross functional project teams, leads department problem solve teams. Facilitate communication with vendors to ensure timely delivery of orders Indirect PO creation & placement based on Business Owner requirements Indirect PO management Facilitating invoice approvals & contact P2P for any invoicing related issues Support vendor data maintenance activities for non-MC related changes Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: BS in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, Finance or related degree Minimum 1 year of experience working in a GMP environment with Supply Chain and Project Management experience Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Experience with pharmaceutical manufacturing, procurement or working with a 3rd party accounts payable departments Experience communicating to all levels of the organization - to effectively communicate order status, delivery, or vendor issues both orally and written Ability to collaborate with teams in a matrix environment & build trust Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong relationship management building skills, with the ability to interact, influence, and manage multiple and varied business contacts, both internal and external, often with different requirements and goals. Highly proficient in the use of MS Office, MS Project, Visio Strong analytical and critical thinking skills Able to prioritize and decide appropriate courses of actions Effective at implementing decisions Strong organizational skills #LI-GSK
