Inbound Routing Shipment Specialist Location Parkville, MO : eShipping is adding an Inbound Routing Shipment Specialist to our team in Kansas City! Position Summary The Inbound Routing Shipment Specialist is responsible for routing and tracking freight from point of entry into the system, through delivery. Responsibilities for this position include receiving inbound calls from customers and/or their suppliers, and inputting their information into the eShipping Transportation Management System to build a shipment and provide customers with a Bill of Lading. Inbound calls, emails, and online requests for shipment quotes, status updates, and shipment tracking information must be given with exceptional customer service. Additional responsibilities include finding missing tracking numbers, diagnosing missed pickups, and arranging for rescheduling as needed. The team is also responsible for monthly reporting, shipment history, analysis, and problem solving under tight deadlines. This group interacts with our Solutions, Account Management, Finance, and Executive teams regularly, and serves a critical role in the seamless and timely delivery of the suite of transportation management services provided by eShipping.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Duties include but are not limited to the following: Field inbound calls, emails, and online shipment requests Build customer's shipment in eShipping's Transportation Management System Provide vendors with a Bill of Lading generated from our TMS Provide customers with shipment quotes and status updates Determine timely and cost effective transit routes Diagnose missed pickups and reschedule as needed Find opportunities for additional margin on shipments Provide updates and information to vendors and customers concerning shipments Other administrative duties as required Required Skills and Abilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee may be required to perform numerical operations including basic counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing or more complex quantitative calculations. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is inside a central heat and air-conditioned office building. The noise level in the work environment is minimal.
