Responsibilities
• Greet and welcome patients, escort them to the appropriate location for information gathering• Accurately measure and record patient information in EMR• Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider• Administer immunizations and update vaccine information in OSIIS and EMR• Order, receive, and organize vaccines• Compile monthly immunization report• Verify immunizations needed and provide VIS• Coordinate immunization events• Perform weekly temperature logs• Assist providers in physical exams and procedures• Address patient and family needs with cultural sensitivity• Dispose of contaminated items, follow safety protocols• Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and Variety Care policies• Assist with medical emergencies• Support variety care's accreditation as a Patient Centered Medical Home• Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
• High school graduate or GED• Previous Medical Assistant/LPN experience or two or more years of MA/LPN experience• Related immunization experience• Ability to perform MA duties• Ability to obtain and record accurate information• Intermediate computer skills• Experience related to immunizations preferred• Ability to maintain confidentiality• Medical Assistant Certificate or LPN License preferred• Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred
