Responsibilities
• Interface and support geographically diverse design team members• Lead design of I&C and electrical systems• Develop and review system and component-level specifications• Perform engineering and design evaluations• Provide technical direction and guidance• Specify and describe instrumentation measurement techniques• Analyze and apply regulatory criteria and standards• Develop and review technical design documents• Create and manage drawing packages of system designs• Provide technical direction and oversight of supplier projects• Support continuous learning and application of industry best practices• Integrate I&C with work of other disciplines• Interface with and support licensing activities
Requirements
• B.S. or higher in Controls, Electrical, or related discipline• 6+ years direct experience in instrumentation and controls systems• Previous experience with nuclear reactor safety systems desired• Familiarity with implementing design control in accordance with nuclear power plant quality assurance• Experience designing and operating high-temperature processes desired• Ability to handle projects with competing objectives and design constraints• Familiarity with industrial process flow and instrument diagrams desired• Experience with CAD software desired• Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills• Self-starter with ability to lead a design team• Attention to detail and aspiration for technical excellence• Ability to work on multiple simultaneous tasks• Experience with formal I&C system startup testing procedure desired
