Description Employee who under general supervision safely performs duties and operates processing equipment in the operation of a solution-extraction plant at a highly skilled level. 
Operate and monitor the different processes within the SX; these may include the following areas: PLS, SX circuit and electrolyte tank  Collect and run plant samples  Monitor the processes and make adjustments as needed  Adjust plant flows to include: cell flows, acid flows, dump flows, etc.  Perform pipeline, pump and motor, pond, rain gauge, dam, dam diversion and berm inspections  Act as fill in Supervisor as needed  Train and mentor fellow employees  Complete maintenance activities as needed  May operate mobile equipment such as, forklifts and light-duty vehicles  Perform area housekeeping  Perform other duties as required Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Two (2) years of experience in Hydromet processing operations Knowledge of Solution-Extraction and Leach Flow Sheets Knowledge of proper shut-down and start-up procedures of copper sulphate and tank house electrolyte transfer systems Knowledge of pipe lines and valve systems Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety. Preferred High School diploma or GED Criteria/Conditions Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment Work is performed in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on uneven work surfaces and work on elevated platforms Frequently may be required to lift up to fifty (50) pounds during the course of the work day May be required to work a non-standard schedule which may include rotating shift work (other than day shift) in a 24/7/365 operation Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as per applicable State Laws At Freeport, we are committed to providing an employment package that recognizes excellence, rewards value and impact, and encourages safe production. Compensation: The estimated pay range for this role is currently $24.50 - $33.00/hour . This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
